Evelyn Toh, originally from Singapore, spent most of her childhood in Malaysia and Indonesia. Upon returning to Singapore she attended the Singapore Ballet Academy finishing her RAD Advanced 2 examination with distinction. During this time she performed with Singapore Dance Theater, and John Mead’s Moving Arts Image Company. Evelyn graduated magna cum laude from The Boston Conservatory with the support of the Al and Pat Houston scholarship, Jan Veen scholarship, Anamarie Sarazin scholarship, and Singapore’s National Arts Council Overseas scholarship. Upon graduation she had the opportunity to apprentice with Nimbus Dance Works. She then toured extensively as a company member of MOMIX, performing in countries such as Italy, Brazil, Spain and Switzerland. In 2014 Evelyn joined T.H.E Dance Company, one of Singapore’s top contemporary dance companies, where she had the privilege to perform in multiple productions and festivals throughout Asia. Evelyn is currently an MFA candidate at Sam Houston State University where she looks forward to continue cultivating her artistry.
